Per a 19 February guidance issued by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Trump administration is ordering federal prisons to begin tapering hormone therapy for incarcerated transgender people. The guidance, outlining how the federal prison system will treat incarcerated people diagnosed with gender dysphoria, bars the Federal Bureau of Prisons from initiating hormone therapy for inmates who were not already receiving it.
