#EducationNotIncarceration]
Every year, approximately $21 billion is being invested into the systems of youth incarceration and aiding in jailing nearly 60,000 kids. š
-
Out of the 60,000, the highest reported recidivism rate for juvenile offenders was 76%. Due to a lack of rehabilitation programs in place, these youth are liable to recidivate and disperse into a larger web of statistics that include our nation annually investing $182 billion in jailing, imprisoning, and keeping over 2.3 million people behind bars and detached from their people, loved ones, society, and community.
-
Long story short, we need to do better. š
