As we enter into a new year and decade, my family was blessed with the gift of new life. Today, I give thanks and honor my sister for achieving such a courageous feat in achieving the birth that she desired. She delivered naturally, on her terms and with a support system that any birthing woman would want. - She ushered her healthy, strong, and beautiful baby boy into this world and I am full. Full of gratitude. Full of emotion. Full of appreciation to bear witness to this miracle. - We often witness the atrocities that take place in the medical industry to silence and ignore Black women and their birth process, and we must continue to confront the injustices and expose the raw authentic representation of Black women being what they are - powerful and capable! - We must Defend Black Womanhood by any means necessary!
