We as a people have such a history of being taken for granted, being stolen from, being oppressed, being discriminated against, being overlooked and the list goes on, but I’ve envisioned a “Seat at the Table” that’s seasoned, soulful, spicy and melanin filled. I choose to opt out of the rooms and seats that aren’t really for us, but instead select us to meet a quota for the plan of inclusion that they’ve set in place. Their plan of inclusion tends to look like - ✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏼✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻✋🏾 . At the table that I dream of, my folks will have both power and influence to positively impact my people and bring forth change ✊🏾🖤 . Those that sit at this table will look like me, appreciate what I offer, and we’ll be able to resonate with each other because we know the same pain and obstacles that we’ve had to overcome, just from being Black In America. Our combined credibility, power and influence will reach the masses. We will be heard and seen, and we will bring forth positive...
