I ♡ this picture of directher! I always notice her beauty, those locs, her glasses and nails...her nails seem to ALWAYS be done. I still haven't figured out how she pulls that off. As my family and I watched the trailer of "Selma" last night, I was filled with mixed emotions. I thought about the struggle, the bloodshed, the numerous murders, the pain, the broken families and Ferguson MS as I know it today. People paved the way for me to be where I am today. I stand on the shoulders of warriors so everything that I dream of is possible to me. My people didn't know my name, but they fought for me and for that I am grateful. I don't think that anything happens by coincidence and when this film landed in the hands of directher (my aunt in my head), the magic unfolded. I know she did this film justice. My life will forever be changed by her desire to have me play such an impactful role in her movie. This was HER baby and she chose me. I cannot thank her enough for being such a positive role...
