Being a Black girl in America, it seems as if everyone wants our rhythm, but hardly ever our blues. From our daily struggles and stress, to the anxiety we hold within us, and the PTSD like symptoms we adopt due to the constant oppression and Black death we are exposed to...it is a lot to digest and can be overwhelming. While some are able to tune out, some of us are too tuned in to ignore the constant backlash from society. It is not only heavy, but capable of weighing us down.
