. We as a people have such a history of being taking for granted, being stolen from, being oppressed, being discriminated against, being overlooked and the list goes on, but I’ve envisioned a “Seat at the Table” thats seasoned, soulful, spicy and melanin filled. I choose to opt out of the rooms and seats that aren’t really for us, they’ve just selected us to meet a quota because there’s a diversity plan of inclusion that they have in place. . . At the table that I dream of, my folks will have both power and influence to positively impact my people and bring forth change. . . Those that sit at this table will look like me, appreciate what I bring to the table and we’ll be able to resonate with each other because we know the same pain and obstacles that we’ve had to overcome, just from being Black In America. . .
