The DVD-RAM disc, which is reusable and allows for rewriting, broke, and this Hitachi DZ-MV730A can only use -R or -RAM mini discs. The only DVD reader in the house was an old Lenovo laptop running Windows 8.1 and had to be plugged in at all times. We also didn’t have any spare mini discs, and I wouldn’t be able to get a new -RAM in time so I ordered a -R disc. 30 mins, 1.4gb, NO REWRITES. Almost couldn’t find the adapter that would allow the camcorder to finalize the disc, which is a required process for -R discs to rip (copy/transfer) the files. Once I did, I finalized the footage, inserted it into the laptop, tried to copy the files, and it failed.
