Receiving is one of, if not, the most important aspects of catching. Every single one of my catchers that I train definitely work on blocking and throwing… but receiving is where they make the biggest impact on the field. Each pitch has the opportunity to change the course of a game. Walk vs strikeout. Ball vs strike. 1-0 vs 0-1. All dependent on how the catcher receives it.
