#SkaterSpotlightSaturday | Each week, we’ll be highlighting a skater or duo from the National Qualifying Series. Up first, meet Sylvia Li and Rowan Le Coq. Ages: 11 and 15 Level/Discipline: Novice Ice Dance Why They Love Skating: “We love skating because we can learn a lot from the challenges and mistakes, as well as controlling nerves before competitions. We can also make a lot of new friends on the way, which makes the journey a lot more fun.” How They’ve Exhibited U.S. Figure Skating’s Core Values: They’ve shown both excellence and resilience, improving at interpreting the accompanying music with their movements and expressions, and overcoming injuries and changes to their program. They always #GetUp by encouraging each other, making them a stronger team. Catch sxlviali and rowanlc at the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships next week! Want to submit a nomination for our future spotlights?
