Former Lieutenant Colonel Chris, who says he was attacked five times in his home in Virginia, believes some of the victims of Havana Syndrome are owed a Purple Heart military decoration. “For me and my military brothers and sisters who are hurt, being issued a Purple Heart is acknowledgment of our sacrifice to the country. And the sacrifice we made, that affects not only us, but also our families,” says Chris, who asked that 60 Minutes not use his last name. Both abroad and at home, some U.S. government and military officials, and their families, suffered mysterious brain injuries also known as Havana Syndrome that in some cases have led to health conditions like damaged vision, memory, and balance.
