UK warship HMS Dragon, a British Type 45 Destroyer, has left her home base of Portsmouth and is headed to Cyprus. The ship been loaded with ammunition and supplies ready to protect a UK military base in the Mediterranean region. The government confirmed a week ago that the vessel would be deployed, after a drone struck the runway at the RAF Akrotiri base, causing what the Ministry of Defence described as “minimal damage”.
