The gunman in a deadly shooting at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Virginia was identified as a former Army National Guard Soldier previously convicted of supporting the terrorist organization ISIS, according to authorities. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified him as 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh. Dominique Evans, the Special Agent in Charge of the Norfolk FBI Field Office, said Jalloh shouted “Allahu Akbar” before opening fire in a classroom at the school on Thursday morning, killing one person and hurting two others. Evans said "the brave ROTC members in that room subdued" Jalloh and "rendered him no longer alive." "The students were able to terminate the threat," Evans said during a news conference, with the New York Post reporting that one of the students stabbed Jalloh to death.
