The team coordinates emergency response and strengthens islandwide preparedness, but protecting our community takes all of us working together. From first responders and County departments to state, federal, and community partners, it is a collective effort that helps keep Kaua‘i moving forward.
KEMA has coordinated response and recovery for historic flooding, hurricanes, landslides, brushfires, major surf events, aviation incidents, tsunami warnings, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The team has also supported recovery efforts beyond our island, including sending members of the All Hazards Incident Management Team to assist Maui County following the Lāhainā wildfires.
