As Kaua‘i experiences impacts from the Kona low, our emergency teams are working around the clock to keep our community safe. 🌧️ Moments like this highlight the important role the Kaua‘I Emergency Management Agency plays throughout the year. The team coordinates emergency response and strengthens islandwide preparedness, but protecting our community takes all of us working together. From first responders and County departments to state, federal, and community partners, it is a collective effort that helps keep Kaua‘i moving forward. KEMA has coordinated response and recovery for historic flooding, hurricanes, landslides, brushfires, major surf events, aviation incidents, tsunami warnings, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
