Barry Keoghan is wondering what’s in a name. The 'Banshees of Inisherin' actor has had the public curious about how to pronounce his Irish last name, so he was thrilled when BBC Radio 1 host Greg James actually pronounced it correctly as “Kee-oh-gan.” “Every time I say it on the radio,” Greg began during Barry’s March 11 appearance on The Breakfast Show, “people are like, ‘It’s not Kee-OH-gan.’ I’m like, ‘It is!’” Barry asked who might be spreading the incorrect pronunciation, with Greg joking it was “everyone.” But according to Barry, “Until a Keoghan tells you it’s not how you say it, well then you know.” For his part, Greg found himself particularly annoyed when folks would tell him not to “pronounce the -eogan,” exclaiming, “Yeah you do pronounce the -eogan!” And Barry certainly agreed with the DJ, quipping, “No, Kee-gan is wrong. It sounds like an infection.” Full Story:
