Congratulations 🎉 to Dr. Courtney Snyder on her election to the American Bandmasters Association. This honor marks one of the highest distinctions in the wind band profession and recognizes sustained artistic excellence, leadership, and national impact. As Associate Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Conducting at the University of Michigan, Dr. Snyder leads the University Concert Band, teaches instrumental conducting and helps guide the Michigan Bands program. She also serves as Music Director of the Michigan Youth Symphonic Band. Her work as a guest conductor and clinician spans the United States, Europe, and South America, with appearances at major conferences including the Midwest Clinic, WASBE, CBDNA, CMS, and Women Band Directors International. Dr. Snyder’s scholarship and advocacy continue to shape the field through publications, conference presentations, and initiatives that expand equity and representation in wind band music.
