In 1926, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) was born in London. That same year, the city hosted the inaugural World Team Table Tennis Championships, setting the stage for a hundred years of sporting excellence.
To mark our Centenary year, we’ve joined forces with Jack Chesher from Living London History to rediscover the physical roots of our federation. From the hidden rooms where our first constitution was signed to the historic venues of the very first world titles, we explore the city that started it all.
As we look back at the last 100 years, we also look forward: the circle completes in 2026 as the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals return to London.
