Later this year, the Cincinnati Zoo will welcome a new, very tall baby animal. 🦒♥️ Tessa, a 19-year-old giraffe, is pregnant with her fifth calf, according to a news release from the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. In October, the baby is expected to join the rest of the zoo's tower, which also includes 5-year-old father Zeke, Zoey and half-brother Fennessy. “We weren’t sure that Tessa could still conceive and were a little discouraged when we didn’t see signs of breeding,” said Cincinnati Zoo giraffe keeper Teresa Truesdale. “It turns out that the breeding was happening at night when we weren’t around!” Look out for Tessa's pregnancy updates on the zoos' social media channels or watch her bump grow in person.
