Missing Mid South this year really hits hard. There’s something about Stillwater, Oklahoma and that 100 mile journey that fills a part of me nothing else quite can. The trials and tribulations of that race are brutal, beautiful, and deeply rewarding all at once. It’s the kind of challenge that reminds you that when you face adversity head on and push yourself to your physical limit, you can experience some of the most incredible feelings life has to offer. Not being there this year feels like I’m stepping away from goals, from purpose, and from some of the moments that have made life feel so complete. I’ll miss the energy, the anticipation, the nerves at the start line, and the pure excitement of watching the pros line up ready to take on the day. I’ll also really miss seeing so many of my favorite athletes and being part of something that always feels bigger than just a race. Wishing everyone lining up the very best of luck.
