Benadryl isn’t the villain… but taking it every night might be. 💊
I’m not a Benadryl hater. It can be helpful short term. But using diphenhydramine nightly for sleep (think Tylenol PM, NyQuil, or straight Benadryl) for months or years has been linked to long-term cognitive issues.
If you’ve relied on it for sleep, the goal is to support your brain while coming off it:
✔ Increase acetylcholine support (CDP-choline)
✔ Boost BDNF for brain repair
✔ Prioritize REM sleep so your brain can actually recover
➡️Comment- “SLEEP” for the supplements I recommend that can help!
Magnesium L-threonate can help with both BDNF and deeper REM cycles, which is huge for brain health.
And if you’ve figured out how to get a full night of sleep without hacks… please let me know. I’m still working on that part. 😅
