How have you been pronouncing BTS’s new album “ARIRANG”? “Arirang” is a traditional Korean folk song, but now that it’s the title of BTS’s new album, it’s a word people all over the world are saying. Since it’s written in English letters, we’ve noticed a lot of pronunciations drifting away from the original Korean sound. Many English speakers we’ve seen pronounce “ARIRANG” as /ˈɑːriˌræŋ/ or /ˈæriˌræŋ/. That’s actually why we made this video. The correct pronunciation is /aɾiɾaŋ/.
