Have you ever heard of synesthesia? ๐ถ Its when your brain routes sensory info through unrelated senses. There are different kinds, but mine is auditory. For me, music is not just something I hearโit's something I see and feel. It wasn't until my twenties that I realized not everyone experiences music this way.
I have two types of synesthesia:
Auditory-tactile synesthesia: When I hear sounds, I feel physical sensations, like changes in temperature, pressure, or even pain. ๐๐ง๐ฅ (This is why i hate fireworks and balloons or any popping sounds)
Chromesthesia: Music creates vivid visual images for me. I dont see colors as much as i see shapes, and movements as if they're projected on a screen in front of my face.
This is automatic and involuntary, and its comes in handy as a choreographer but not so much during Fourth of July ๐๐คฃ
Anyone else? ๐
