RIP Fauja Singh Ji.. Sponsored by Adidas at 93. He really did prove that Impossible is Nothing.. Fauja Singh wasn’t just a marathon runner. He was a phenomenon. A man who picked up long-distance running at the age of 89 and went on to run marathons around the world, including London, New York, Toronto and Mumbai.. He became the first 100-year-old to complete a full marathon, finishing the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 2011. And in 2004, at the age of 93, he was signed by adidas for their global “Impossible Is Nothing” campaign, appearing alongside the likes of Muhammad Ali and David Beckham. That says it all. I had the privilege of meeting Fauja Singh on several occasions over the years. He once visited my home. He was our distinguished guest at the Asian Football Awards at Wembley Stadium.
