Reflecting back to 2013, launching the second Asian Football Awards at the Houses of Parliament still feels surreal. Standing in one of the most historic institutions in the country, giving the opening speech in front of senior politicians, sponsors, and most importantly, the South Asian football community. The journey has been anything but easy. Earning respect. Getting the football world to take us seriously. Proving that this isn’t a side issue, it’s a cause rooted in fairness, visibility, and overdue recognition. There have been proud moments and painful ones. Breakthroughs and rejections. Encouragement from some, doubt from others. I’m grateful for all of it. We continue to advocate. To reward. To recognise. To raise awareness. To support a community that has always been part of the game, even when the spotlight wasn’t on us. It’s a privilege to be part of this. Truly. We look forward to continuing the journey with the next Asian Football Awards in 2026. #AsianFootballAwards...
