This was my face when my body was in survival mode. Not from lack of sleep. Not from stress alone. Not from “just a skin issue.” This was my immune system in chaos. This was inflammation speaking through my skin. This was my nervous system drowning after years of overload. This was the lowest point in my health. And honestly — the lowest point in my happiness too. I was in pain. I was exhausted. And I was still trying to live a “normal” life in a body that was clearly begging for help. I have an autoimmune condition — the kind that’s almost always described as “the body attacking itself.” But I no longer believe that story. What you can’t see in this photo: The brain fog. The joint pain. The crushing fatigue. The fear of not recognizing your own body anymore. My face became the messenger for a war happening inside me. No one teaches you how to grieve the version of yourself that was once healthy. No one teaches you how to keep going when your body — and your life — start to fall...
