International competition — Nepal School Project
Semifinalist Proposal
A school that breathes.
Our proposal plants itself gently at the center of the site — a compact gesture that frees the land, allowing space for gathering, farming, and play.
Two levels, like a quiet chord:
one grounded in stone and earth,
one raised, light and open to the wind.
Inspired by vernacular wisdom, we embraced passive strategies — natural light, cross ventilation, thermal comfort, and rainwater harvesting — reducing reliance on technology while increasing dignity and resilience.
Local materials. Sober forms.
An architecture that doesn’t shout, but listens.
That stays close to the ground, yet lifts spirits.
Honored to be semifinalists of the arcform_org Nepal School Project — a competition that reconnected us with the essence of architecture: to shelter, to inspire, to serve.
