International competition — Nepal School Project Semifinalist Proposal A school that breathes. Our proposal plants itself gently at the center of the site — a compact gesture that frees the land, allowing space for gathering, farming, and play. Two levels, like a quiet chord: one grounded in stone and earth, one raised, light and open to the wind. Inspired by vernacular wisdom, we embraced passive strategies — natural light, cross ventilation, thermal comfort, and rainwater harvesting — reducing reliance on technology while increasing dignity and resilience. Local materials. Sober forms. An architecture that doesn’t shout, but listens. That stays close to the ground, yet lifts spirits.
