HERE is the story of Papel Picado⬇️ Long before tissue paper, Aztec artisans carved spirit figures into fibrous paper, atmatl, to call in rain and weather. Their art connected the physical and the unseen. I create for that same purpose, to illustrate the presence of spirit and our connection to who and what we love.
