Today is a big day!
At 10.30am this morning, my boy Zach will finish his final A Level exam and that will be his 14yrs of education finished!
He also turned 18 on the day of his first A Level back in May. So first child done!
I feel almost as triumphant as learning how to successfully lay bricks here, which are the walls to the extension of our barn conversion. This is speeded up by 4 times so you can see why it’s been taking so long 😂
But I reckon building a wall really isn’t dissimilar to parenting - you have to learn and build up the skills as you go, you have to make sure there’s enough mortar (security and love) to hold together the building blocks you are giving them through school and at home.
Sometimes bits fall down (my bit of wall did fall down, when it got knocked by a deer a few hours later!), but you just have to build them up again. And if you can do all that with patience and care, even if it’s not perfect, you’ll build a strong wall and child.
Anyway, musing...
