The Q’ero are an indigenous community of the Peruvian Andes, considered among the last to have continuously preserved the Inca worldview. They live high in the mountains, in remote territories where daily life follows the rhythm of the earth and a spiritual relationship with nature. For the Q’ero, the mountains are not just landscape but living presences: the Apu. This project was born from an encounter with a culture that does not define itself through the past, but through a tradition practiced in the present. The images observe gestures, glances and bodies within the space they inhabit, without searching for the exotic or the exceptional. From the lands of Chinchero to the highest Q’ero peaks, each village is distinguished by its own hats and traditional clothing.
