Morning everyone! I often get asked about my decorating style and use of colour, so here are a few top tips -
If you want a warm feeling room, but really want to keep your walls white use WARM colours on major pieces, because they will reflect that warm light on to the walls.
Then add depth and richness to the scheme by adding darker - and lighter - versions of the same colours.
Add life by using a warm colour as the base (the Rhubarb in this case) with a cooler colour as the accent (the green in this case). Or the other way round!
Neutrals, even black and white are important too, because they add moments of pause that allow the colours to breathe.
Texture is vital - brought in through soft furnishings, ceramics and plants.
Always add nick nacks that have some meaning and history - they bring in delight and soul!
And books of course - colour coordinate or don’t, but they are always good.
