So proud of my boy! My 18yr old boy Zach was offered this last minute opportunity to go on the adventure of a lifetime with rubicon3sailing to sail to the Arctic Circle with 72hrs notice. He’s never sailed before. But he seized it without hesitation, even though it meant missing his final Yr13 assembly and school prom. However, for the first 2 days at sea he had horrible debilitating sea sickness and was utterly miserable, regretting his choice to miss saying goodbye to all his friends and teachers. But after a long phone call home, he decided to stick it out, cross the rubicon and re-embark for the tough 4 day non-stop ocean passage from the Faroes to the Arctic Circle. For the first 36hrs at sea, he was horribly sick again. But then miraculously it passed, he found his sea legs and now he’s loving it! It turns out he is great at the helm and has a natural affinity with the wind. At 09.15 this morning he crossed into the Arctic Circle. I’m so proud of him for finding...
