SURPRISE REVEAL! A happy home should bring a smile to your face, so we built a secret bookcase door! This was actually one of the first things we built when we got thelittlewildfarm 18 months ago, but we didn’t have enough books to put on the shelves to do the reveal until today. Which happens to be World Book Day! AND I just happened to join a new book club yesterday! The whole bookcase with secret door was actually custom made for us by a brilliant local carpenter. It was a tricky build because being so old the whole house is wonky - there’s not a single straight or level line! HINGES - We used 3 big Soss hinges for the secret door. Soss hinges are specifically for when you want to hide the hinge. CLOSING MECHANISM - The door is then held in place by a special magnet, which pulls the door shut.
