🪦’Where Light Once Lived’🪦 One of my favorite abandoned buildings, which happened to topple over last year. As always, it’s a wonderful privilege to create art with these storied and weathered buildings; to become a small part of its rich history and to memorialize them in my own peculiar way. I realize that when I write about fallen abandoned buildings, I often end up writing sort of a lament or epitaph, for to me, in ways, I humanize them as characters in this world with a birth, narrative and death. They hauntingly remind me of our own lives, not to mention the fact that we build walled spaces that define us and which see so much of our lives unfold is such a fascinating oddity.
