Wandering within a surreal landscape in Northern Arizona. This was captured utilizing a 3-minute exposure with an 18-stop Neutral Density filter. Without a subject, it’s difficult to grasp the scale, however the bush at the bottom of the frame is roughly the size of a person. Last year I rallied down to Northern Arizona for one last camping trip in late November with my hometown (Ripon Wisconsin) friend Dustin LaMont salty_lamonty . The days were cold and crisp, but it was beautiful… then the weather turned and it was absolutely brutal. It rained for 24 hours straight, we were literally landlocked, the roads being so saturated that we would’ve gotten stuck if we attempted to leave. It was super cold, miserable, and I can’t tell you how many hours we spent sitting in our truck. Regretfully of course, it was a sober trip, as the conditions begged for a bottle of whiskey. Weather eventually cleared, and we were able to pack up the next day and explore another location. All in all, worth...
