Recently I installed seven massive artwork pieces (working with artwork installer Justin Sonnentag) at the airport that services the Yampa Valley and Steamboat Springs Colorado. Over the past few years I saw an opportunity to partner with the airport and showcase my work to roughly a quarter million passengers each year. For over a decade the airport has showcased the artwork of renowned American nature and wildlife photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen, who has traveled the world for 50 years observing and photographing Earth’s last great wild places. Recently his gallery location in Steamboat Springs closed its doors, and the airport artwork hadn’t seen an update since that original installation, thus giving me an opportunity to refresh the space and showcase my artwork alongside Mangelsen.
