Swipe for complete images | From a perch, staring down into a grove of aesthetic Aspens near Buffalo Mountain, Routt County, Colorado. When you put in the work to scout locations…bushwhacking off trail while searching for aesthetic compositions, textures, patterns, continuity…and you discover a special spot, you often return. In the summer of 2023 I discovered this location in the Routt National Forest, and returned a few times to shoot. Last fall I was curious to return and see what the location looked like in peak autumn foliage. Autumn was a much more enjoyable experience, as during the summer I was engulfed in a swarm of mosquitoes fully clothed head to toe wearing gloves and a face covering… Swipe left here to view both versions.
