Almost everything I shoot is extremely planned, positioning myself in a certain location at a certain time. This particular location, I envisioned the final result, but then made sure to do my homework, confirming sunrise angles and timing to make sure first light would strike this tree…not 5 minutes after sunrise, not 30 minutes after sunrise, literally the first rays of light. The next day I returned prepared.
