Desert Midnight Oasis

One of my favorite desert captures. Illuminating a desert alcove deep within Glen Canyon during peak autumn foliage in Southern Utah. It’s always exciting to visualize a different dimension, essentially studio lighting these massive outdoor scenes to showcase different colors and textures.
This image was captured via 4 separate lights (2x Lume Cubes, and 2x headlamps), with a Lume Cube’s positioned behind the back right tree (backlighting it), another Lume Cube illuminating the canyon alcove wall, my brother bennywetzel utilizing a headlamp light painting the left trees with perfect execution, and finally, my headlamp off the camera above and to the right…flashing just a few seconds of light…top down onto the falls to mimic studio soft lighting.
