Overcompensation is real in relationships, and it usually shows up when someone knows they are dating out of their league.
When you do not feel equal, you start trying to earn your place.
You cook, clean, pay, drive, fix, support, and overextend.
You become the bank, the therapist, the babysitter, the chauffeur, the chef, the massuse and the wife.
You do everything while they just show up to collect comfort and watch you work.
That is not love or commitment.
That is insecurity trying to buy safety.
If effort, contribution, and consideration are not mutual, you are not in a relationship.
You are overfunctioning to patch a broken sense of self worth.
No amount of doing more will make someone value you if they are not already meeting you where you stand.
Real relationships are built on reciprocity, not self abandonment because you cant handle being alone.
