Chivalry is not dying because men stopped caring. It is fading because appreciation has. Spending two or three hundred dollars on a date does not mean anything if the person across from you is more engaged with their phone than with you. If the energy is one sided, if the effort is not matched with attention or gratitude, that is not romance. That is validation harvesting. If you are providing and the other person is just consuming, they are not into you. They are into the experience. Into the optics. Into the image of being desired.
