Because if they can make you feel small for asking the question, they don’t have to face the truth behind the answer. But here’s the reality… If they weren’t insecure, they would just answer it. If you ask somebody what they ate for dinner last night, they’ll say: “I had three chicken tacos and a salad.” No flinching. No drama. No defensiveness. Because there’s no shame in it. But ask them something sensitive… Something that hits a sore spot… Something they don’t want to be exposed… And suddenly YOU become the problem.
