Google accelerates India’s AI leadership with major investments across healthcare, agriculture, and sustainability
Google has announced a series of new collaborations and funding commitments to strengthen India’s AI ecosystem, unveiled at the “Lab to Impact” dialogue in New Delhi. The initiatives focus on building responsible, inclusive, and scalable AI solutions aligned with India’s national priorities.
In healthcare, Google committed $400,000 to support the development of India’s Health Foundation Models using MedGemma. In partnership with All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Ajna Lens, these models will address India-specific use cases such as dermatology and OPD triaging. Google is also collaborating with the National Health Authority to standardize medical records and improve access to over 400,000 health facilities via Google Maps and Search.
