𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝? This is a deceptively simple question, but the answer is equally complex. Research by OECD - OCDE, UN’s Data Booklet, and many other international organisations suggest that there are about 48,000 recognised cities… But did you know that there are over 4.3 million populated places worldwide? By 2050, 𝟔𝟖% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝’𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬. Yet, defining what constitutes a city is a global challenge.
