“Mallard In Flight” The most common ducks on the lake where I live are mallards. The males are showy with brilliant green heads while the females seem dull and brown by comparison. Catch a female in flight though and you see the hidden beauty. Her wings have the richest deep blue feathers and she can put any male to shame.
