"Black-necked Stilt" This elegant little shore bird walks carefully along the shallows watching for any sign of its prey. A quick darting movement and it has another morsel. I spotted this bird, and many of its friends, at a conservation area in southern Alberta maintained by Ducks Unlimited. Unlike many of the more skittish birds, I found that just sitting still and keeping a low profile was enough to let them comfortably approach me and pose for my shots. P.S.
