Have you experienced lower back pain (LBP) in the past one month? ๐ค
An interesting study was conducted with over 1300 participants, all men, to correlate lower back pain with obesity.
The findings of the given study pointed us towards a direct relationship between increased abdominal adiposity (fat deposition around your belly region) and radiating lower back pain (pain which either translates upwards towards you shoulders or downwards towards your knees).
Those with normal weight at baseline who substantially gained weight had increased risk of 1โ
month radiating LBP pain during assessment ๐
Also, those who were constantly overweight had a twofold increased risk of radiating LBP ๐
BMI in young adults (20 years old) also predicted lower back pain in later years of life ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Another study was conducted with women which yielded similar results ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
This shows us that your weight and body composition will influence the health of your lower back ๐ฎ
