Time to put this myth to bed!
⭐️When we squat, it is important to maintain BALANCE
✅If balance is good, the movement becomes easier (which helps the person to life more weight)
🙄You must have heard so many trainers who say that knees crossing the toes can be harmful. In reality, this advice is incorrect!
🪑Now if you squat with half range (like sitting on a chair), the knees don’t always need to go ahead of the toes
But if you want to do a full squat (like sitting down for taking a 💩), the knees do go across the toes
📍The knee joint is a hinge joint (just like hinges in a door). Above the knee joint is the femur bone and below are Tibia & Fibula
🧩When we squat with full range of motion (sitting down), the knees do go ahead of the toes in most people, balance is maintained, the torso is upright & hip is hinged.
🎯This is biomechanically correct & there is no reason to restrict the knee from going across the toe
