Having to drastically switch up your training to keep “confusing” the muscles to adapt, is quite outdated. Progressive overload is where it’s at. Meaning progressively increasing the load on the body as you get used to it. That might mean, increasing weight or total volume or just keeping consistent. If you keep mixing it up too often. You can’t focus on overload and you’re always starting again. When you start it might take you a couple of weeks to understand your true effort for any given exercise. Progress isn’t linear and progress can sometimes be turning up and keeping consistent… You may however change up the program due to goals, progress or boredom. It’s the art and science of coaching. Doing what works for you, but also making it exciting enough for you to keep going. Some of us are process orientated and the fun comes from following the process and seeing progress. Others, want to enjoy it more which might come from some variety, a community or some other variable. #gy...
