“You’re doing well? ok you can go up…” - coach, probably.
If we follow our own progress and keep the same intensity as we improve that normally means we’ve added more weight, more volume or more reps.
Or some other way to match the similar efforts as we improve. If you begin working out at a 7/10 intensity, then with consistent training, you still work out at a 7/10, the things is you’re doing at 7/10 are higher in absolute effort.
With consistent effort, the exercise may not get “easier” on one hand, as we increase in line with our increased skills.
But in the other hand it does, as we feel better about it. And areas of our life become better for it, and exercise gets embedded into routine and less mental energy is used.
